Overland Park Woman Trades Wedding Rings For Chiefs Tickets

Last week, a woman in Overland Park listed a wedding ring set on Craigslist that read, “Will trade diamond wedding ring for Chiefs vs Broncos Tickets.”
The Overland Park woman sealed the deal with a Kansas City Chiefs season ticket holder who proposed to his girlfriend yesterday.
The official trade was the ring for 4 tickets to the December 1st Broncos game and 2 tickets to the Chargers game this upcoming weekend.
The story quickly went viral, resulting in the seller enduring backlash from people who criticized her for giving up her wedding rings for football tickets. What she didn’t tell anyone: The rings were from a previous marriage and have no emotional importance to her anymore. Not surpringly, she asked to remain anonymous.
The Overland Park woman made the final deal with Northlander Rusty Jones.
As it turns out, he and his girlfriend had started talking about engagement rings about a month ago.
Rusty has been a Chiefs season ticket holder since 1993, and, obviously, had the tickets to offer
Rusty met the OP woman at Meierotto jewelers on Vivion Road, where he paid to have them appraised, he said. The rings had been listed with a value of $3,100.
The OP woman had wanted to complete the trade in time for her husband’s 40th birthday.
As for Rusty, last night he’s threw a big Chiefs party at his home — lights, music, a big tunnel entrance just like the one the players use to enter Arrowhead.
While the game did not turn out like we were all hoping, for Rusty and his girlfriend, it turned out to be a MAJOR win -- Why? Because she said, YES!
